Gavin Andresen is part of MIT’s Digital Currency Initiative. He took over as the lead developer for the Bitcoin Core open source software project after Satoshi Nakamoto disappeared. Before joining the Bitcoin movement, Gavin was part of a wide variety of software-related ventures, including a company that made multiplayer online games for blind people and their sighted friends. He started his career writing software at Silicon Graphics Computer Systems, a 3D graphics hardware company. He lives and works in Amherst, Massachusetts.
