Dent @ Home: How to Elevate Your Virtual Presence with Sarah Gershman

June 5 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm PDT

Now that physical meetings are all but nonexistent, most of the work world has migrated exclusively into the domain of Zoom and other virtual platforms. Given that, it’s surprising how little attention has been given to how to best present oneself in this newly ubiquitous arena.

On Friday June 5, at 11:00am PT we are excited to host communications expert Sarah Gershman as she enlightens the Dent community on the key techniques for successfully engaging in the virtual world. The key to any successful presentation is the ability to be fully present with the listener. Sarah will teach participants concrete strategies to reduce anxiety, clarify content, and maximize impact of virtual meetings and presentations.

Sarah will delve into her 3 Keys to Presence: Presence of self, presence of message, and presence of delivery.

Critical to virtual presence is the ability to know and connect to your audience, especially since they are not in the room with you. Participants will learn and practice a simple and powerful virtual exercise to reduce anxiety, get in the zone, and inspire an audience. Each participant will work on a specific conversation or presentation. We will learn how to better understand your virtual audience and develop a clear core message and narrative that resonates with them.

Participants will learn and practice concrete virtual delivery strategies, including:

  1. How to channel your voice to make everyone on the call feel personally addressed
  2. How to use emotion to connect to everyone on the call
  3. How to break down the wall between you and the virtual audience
  4. How to use movement to emphasize content on a video calls
  5. How to use visuals in virtual presentations

At the end of the training, participants will receive handouts outlining the main points of the training and offering additional resources to explore.
