The Art of Mentorship
A significant percentage of the people who feel they have achieved “success” will claim that they had the benefit of an engaged mentor. According to a CNBC/SurveyMonkey workplace happiness survey, workers who claimed to have a workplace mentor are significantly more likely to be happy with their jobs. In addition, a study by the Journal of Vocational Behavior found a link between mentoring support and organizational commitment.
Denter Deanna Brown is a business strategist and leadership consultant with K2OHSolutions. In her work, she advises organizations on why and how to tap into the power of mentorship. In this Dent @ Home talk, Deanna will delve into the transformative power of mentorship and knowledge sharing.
Some of the topics to be covered include:
* The big picture of mentorship, the benefits and some historical perspective
* The potential of making mentorship a pillar of your organization
* Mentorship at-large, how societal knowledge sharing could benefit all
* How mentees and mentors can be more effective in their roles
* Creating and maintaining mentoring relationships
