Dent @ Home with Kelly Wendorf
September 11 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm PDT
Denter Kelly Wendorf is an executive coach, spiritual mentor and founding partner of EQUUS, a leadership and professional development organization, home-based on Thunderbird Ridge an 11-acre experiential learning & discovery campus in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Horses are co-facilitators in their work at the ranch, and much of Kelly’s wisdom on leadership has emerged from her life-long observations of the horse herd.
Her new book, Flying Lead Change: 56 Million Years of Wisdom for Leading and Living offers a new approach to leading and living inspired by two profound sources of ancient wisdom: original peoples and Equus (the horse), grounded in evidence-based principles of neuroscience.
Kelly and her partner Scott Strachan co-founded the groundbreaking EQUUS training program, which several Denters were able to experience at our last conference. Kelly and Scott teach a way of leadership modeled on a 56 million-year-old system of the horse herd––a path that has allowed humans and horses alike to survive the kinds of global and societal threats we now face, such as climate change and mass extinction. In Flying Lead Change she takes readers step by step through this powerful approach.
Kelly advocates tapping into your own intrinsic wisdom and to develop a healthy balance between your left and right brain. Curiosity, learning to listen, fostering a state of beginner’s mind, and “leading from behind” are all central to her philosophy.
