Agile Entrepreneurship: From Idea to Product on Shelves in Six Weeks (and in a Pandemic)
Dent board member Matt McKenna has been on a broad — and diverse – tear of late. In 2017 he sold Red Fish Media the mobile advertising company he founded in 2004. Soon after that he launched a talent agency, opened a specialty coffee shop, and most recently started a product incubator creating premium products for Whole Foods Market. His first product for Whole Foods was inspired by COVID — a line of face masks designed specifically with the South Florida heat in mind.
Matt and his business partner Luis Pinol were able to conceive and execute on forming a business, designing, manufacturing, and the shipping of a popular (and potentially life-saving) mask line in record time.
Matt will discuss the genesis of Peekaboo Masks, what entrepreneurial and managerial lessons others can take away from his experience, and in general, how to streamline the execution of entrepreneurial ideas. Along the way, we will delve into some of he other aspects of his endeavors (including his past life as an international DJ), and will get his thoughts about 2022 and beyond.
Matt is a marketing and technology pioneer. He founded Red Fish Media in 2004 (Acquired in 2017), an agency at the forefront of mobile technology, powering mobile engagement programs for brands like: Ralph Lauren, Starbucks, Google, Microsoft, Nike, M&M’s, Subaru, and many more. He is an accomplished speaker and has delivered talks at marque events such as: Sundance Film Festival, The Twitter Conference, Money 20/20, CES, SXSW, Shoptalk, and many more. Matt made the cover of BizBash magazine in 2016 as one of the most innovate marketing professionals in the US. He is a board member of the DENT Conference (Named top conference by Entrepreneur Magazine). He is currently the CEO of Talent Alliance Group, an agency creating authentic celebrity endorsements and brand experiences. Their roster includes LeVar Burton, Zoë Bell, Astronaut Tim Kopra and others. He is also the Founder of Imperial Moto, a vintage motorcycle inspired specialty coffee shop and lifestyle apparel brand based in Miami, FL. Most recently Matt helped form Peekaboo Brands, a product incubator creating premium products for Whole Foods Market.
