Dent Wine Circle: Focus on Washington Cabernets
February 18 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm PST
In Washington State, over half of the 35,000 vineyard acres allocated to red wine varietals are dedicated to Cabernet Sauvignon. For our upcoming circle, participants may want to bring a bottle of Washington Cab to the meeting to discuss it. As a learning experience, Greg Kisor will be opening up 2-3 different mid-range ($40 or less) examples and will describe his interpretation of the taste of each. Denters may want to open up one or more of the same to compare notes with Greg.
Browne Family Vineyard 2017 or 2018
Intrinsic Cab 2017 or 2018
Borne of Fire Cab 2017 or 2018
All Denters representing any/all levels of expertise in the domain of wine are encouraged to participate. If you are totally new to fermented grape beverages, or are an experienced professional, please come and join the conversation.
We will also follow up with all registrants to offer up an appropriate snack idea to accompany a WA Cab.
For those who have issues/allergies with reds or cabs, perhaps open up a Sauvignon Blanc, as Cabernet Sauvignon is a descendent from a cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc.
As always, Tequila is always a good idea too. 🙂
