Who is Dent for?

Dent is an amazing experience designed to bring you together with people who are like you, but who you would never ordinarily meet. It’s an incredible opportunity to find support through a time of transition or to power through a challenge that needs new perspectives or lateral thinking.

Here are a few job titles we tend to see at our events

Artist & Creative Director

Scientist

Co-Founder & CEO

Investor & Advisor

Professor & Researcher

Chief Technology Officer

Astronaut

Executive Director

Think Better

Bill Gates has his famous “think week” for a reason. Setting aside time to recharge your energy and open your mind to new perspectives is mission-critical but easy to make a low priority. Every year the sessions at Dent explore the realm of the recently possible and look at the world from an unusual angle, and the participants will push you to develop your own thinking as well.

Make a Great Transition

When you step into a new role or lean into a new challenge, it’s easy to find yourself underwater. The sessions at Dent will give you practical grounding to develop your skills as a leader, and the people with you in Santa Fe will have the perspective and experience to help you grow.

Travel Tips and Information

Flying to Maui:
Maui’s major airport is in Kahului (airport code of OGG.) There are several airlines who fly from the US mainland directly into OGG. If you can take one of those flights, that would likely be optimal. If not, you’ll probably have to connect in Oahu’s Honolulu (HNL) airport.

You may notice there’s a small regional airport in Kapalua that appears to be convenient to West Maui resorts, but only inter-island flights land there, we recommend you fly into Kahului (OGG).

Transportation on the Island:
While Uber is available on the island, we recommend either renting a car or teaming up with someone who is. At this time of year rental car rates are not prohibitive. The ride from OGG to Kaanapali Beach will take close to an hour, and several of our activities and meals are in areas that are not walkable from the Sheraton.

Lodging:
Most people will be staying at the Sheraton Maui Resort on Ka‘anapali Beach. This is where the workshop sessions will be held, and we have negotiated a discounted rate on sleeping rooms. It is also the location of “Black Rock” which is the prominent rocky peninsula at the north end of the beach, which has a worldwide reputation as being one of the best snorkeling spots in the world. It is also a short walking distance to a myriad of shops, restaurants, and hotels (should attendees should decide to stay elsewhere.)

Making your reservation at the Sheraton Maui Resort:
We have negotiated rooms rates that currently run about 18% below the best rates we’ve discovered on Expedia. If you call 808-921-4645 and reference “Dent Explore Maui” you can book rooms for a base rate of $295.00/$260.00 for ocean view/not.

Note that these rates do not include Hawaii excise tax of 4.166% or room tax of 10.25%. There is a mandatory daily resort fee of $25.00. Note that parking is $22 per day, $30 for valet parking.

The Resort Fee Includes the Following Benefits:
* Valet parking on day of arrival (first night only)
* Unlimited wireless high-speed internet access in guest rooms, lobby, pool bars, and Hoku Rotunda
* Scheduled shuttle service to Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Westin Ka‘anapali Ocean Resort Villas, and historic Lahaina town
* Adult Pool Floats
* Signature logo Hawaiian tote bag

Additional Hotel Benefits:

Dent Maui attendees get a ten percent (10%) discount on spa treatments at the Spa at Black Rock and tickets to the “Maui Nui” Luau at the Sheraton.
