3/22: Bonus Dent Reception at the Ketchum Innovation Center

Many of our guests will be arriving in Sun Valley on March 22. Dozens will come via the Southwest "Nerd Bird" flight followed by the wine tasting bus. After all get a chance to wind down and enjoy dinner, we encourage all "Denters" to head over to the brand new Ketchum Innovation Center for a 9:00pm reception. The KIC is the hub of the valley’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, and is the perfect location for us to share wine, munchies, good conversation, and to screen the thrilling National Geographic short "Terminal Velocity" featuring Dent speakers Ken and Suzanne Franklin. In Terminal Velocity, the cameras captured Ken and Suzanne's efforts to document the speed of an airborne Peregrine. In their groundbreaking operation, Ken along with their Falcon "Frightful" would perform high-speed vertical airborne skydives together. As you can see in the remarkable footage here, While Frightful could plod along at Ken's maximum free fall rate of 140 MPH, some of the her dives were clocked as high as 242 MPH. Prior to the work of Ken and Suzanne, speculation regarding the velocity of Falcons varied widely. Estimates ranged as being anywhere from 70 to 300 MPH.Ken and Suzanne will be present to answer questions and to discuss their upcoming projects.
