Dent Returns to San Diego Comic‑Con 2026
We're heading back to Comic-Con this month! For more than a decade we've been bringing real-world science and technology to the show — pairing pop-culture stories with the scientists, astronauts, hackers, and builders shaping our real-world future.
I know from experience that the Dent the Future team throws a great event at Comic-Con.
Constructed Worlds at Vegas Scale
From 1998's Star Trek: The Experience to Meow Wolf's Omega Mart and Interstellar Arc today, Las Vegas has become a proving ground for the world's most ambitious immersive entertainment. This session explores how these worlds are conceived, built, and sustained.
Inside the Hacker's Mind
REKCAH Comics — the comic-publishing arm of Black Hills Information Security — makes its San Diego Comic-Con debut. The panel digs into how hacking manifests across media, like TV's Mr. Robot and gaming's Watch Dogs, and modern cyber tactics shape both reality and fiction.
The Science of Severance
Back by popular demand after last year's SRO session! The hit AppleTV show Severance imagines a world where surgery can cleave memory and identity into two selves. Our panel of neuroscientists examines how plausible that is now or in the near-future — from brain-computer interfaces and memory-editing research to the ethics of corporate control over personhood.
Ask an Astronaut
Scott Parazynski is a real-life superhero: an ER physician, veteran of five Space Shuttle flights and seven spacewalks, and the only person to fly in space and summit Mount Everest. Come hear his adventures in an extended audience Q&A, followed by a signing of his memoir The Sky Below.
A private dinner for the Dent community
As always, Dent will host a private dinner during Comic-Con. This year it's complimentary for active Dent Passport members and anyone registered for our September conference in Santa Fe. Space is limited — details are coming soon.
Not a Passport member yet?
Comic-Con is just one of many experiences we open up to Denters. Learn more and apply for your Passport — or spend a few days with this crowd in person at the Dent conference in Santa Fe, September 13–15.
