Extra Taos Excursion Day Added to Dent 2025
En route to Taos, New Mexico
At our annual Dent conferences we sometimes add informal, optional bonus excursions for folks who want to linger just a little longer with the Dent community. In past years, for example, we’ve explored Los Alamos and other amazing New Mexico locales. This year, some Denters are joining us after Dent 2025 exploring why Northern New Mexico draws makers, artists, and iconoclasts back. On Wednesday, September 17, we’re heading to Taos for a bonus-day adventure.
Here’s our itinerary for the day: We’ll drive from Santa Fe to Taos through Taos Canyon to the Earthships, off-grid homes that make sustainability tangible. Next, lunch at Gutiz, a local favorite where the food is excellent and conversations flow.
In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Harwood Museum, home to Taos’s creative heritage. We’ll see works from the Taos Society of Artists and experience the light that drew Georgia O'Keeffe to northern New Mexico. We’ll see how place shapes practice and spot connections to your our work. Then we’re taking a different route back to Santa Fe: the scenic High Road.
On our way back, we'll wrap up our day in Chimayó with dinner at Rancho de Chimayó, a New Mexico institution famous for its red and green chile. Together we’ll enjoy good conversation, shared plates, and the satisfaction of a day well spent.
For a small additional cost for the Taos excursion, transportation and activities are handled, meals included. If you’re already a Dent 2025 attendee, your only job is to say yes to one more day in New Mexico.
